Like last time I started decorating the cake by tracing the basic shapes of the painting onto the cake. This one was a lot easier since it was a single layer sheet cake and not a three-tiered round cake! After the tracing was completed I piped the outline in black buttercream frosting and slowly started to add the rest of the colors. Since this was a simpler version of the cake I didn’t use as many colors nor all of the brushing techniques as I did with the fair cake.
This wasn't my first starry night cake and I’m sure it won’t be my last, but it was defiantly easier than the last one! The first one was a three-tiered cake that I did for the fair a few years ago. The version of this cake was for a good friend that was going to replicate this famous painting at her birthday paint night party. This cake came out really cool and looked so neat next to their finished replicas of the same painting!
