This might seriously be my favorite boy cake of all time. It screamed to my inner geek! It was a three tiered chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling. I covered each tier with the desired color to match the superhero. Superman got a bright blue, Spiderman got red and batman got a dark blue to be the night sky. To create the Batman and Superman logos I printed an outline of the logos and traced it over the corresponding fondant color with the x acto knife. To be honest Batman’s logo was a lot easier to cut than superman’s, a lot less nooks and crannies, and placing it on the other colored fondant took some time and patience. Once the logos were placed I rolled out more black fondant and using a pastry blade, I cut out different rectangle shapes for the city scape. I did the same for the yellow window lights but on a smaller scale. Great Superman and Batman layer were finished, all that was left was Spiderman. Before creating the webs I stacked the three tiers using buttercream and towels. Stacked I made the eyes the same way I did the logos for Batman and Superman. Once in place I slowly piped the webbing with think black buttercream using a #2 tip. It took some trial and error and at one point I had to carefully wipe all of the buttercream off and start all over. Thankfully it turned out perfectly and the mom and the cute little boy couldn’t have been more excited. That smile on his face made it all worth it
