Baptism Cross Cupcakes

4/22/2017

Just as nice done twice! Last week I made a very similar cupcake cross for my Godmother’s RCIA class. Today I made these cupcakes for a sweet little boy’s baptism!

I followed the same procedure as last time but made the cross a little thicker with more cupcakes. I also added a banner with “God Bless”, something I’ll probably do again in the future.

I really like making these cupcake crosses for sacrament celebrations, not only are they fairly easy and really pretty, but delicious!

RCIA Cupcake Cross

I saw this idea on Pinterest awhile ago and have wanted to try it! I was so excited when my Godmother asked me to make some cupcakes to celebrate her first RCIA class entering into the Church as the Director of RCIA. The cupcakes were chocolate and vanilla with all white buttercream frosting. After placing all of the cupcakes on the cakeboard in the shape of a cross, I carefully removed each one and piped a small amount of the frosting on the bottom of each cupcake and placed it back into place. By doing this I was hoping to prevent them from shifting when being moved around.

I am overly happy with how they came out and can't wait to do something like this again!

Beauty and the Beast Cake and Cupcakes

There is nothing more magical than a fairy tale, or deliciously magical as a fairy tale cake. This has to be one of my top favorite little girl cakes ever! This beautiful and rather simple cake is filled with elegance and magic. The top layer was made with royal blue fondant that was quilted using a ruler and a pastry roller. I added little candy pearls at each point and placed larger pearls along the bottom of the cake. The bottom tier was made with yellow fondant and then place long strips of the same fondant to create the ruffle. I used premade small royal icing roses that I purchased from a local cake supply store, sorry I was short on time and energy still after my mom's birthday party to make my own. But these were perfect and looked great! I completed the cake with a large rose on the top and some more pearls around the bottom of the cake.

Some of the cupcakes were simple vanilla cake with yellow frosting with a few pearls and topped with a small red rose. The other half was chocolate cake with red frosting piped in the style of a rose.

I couldn't have hoped for this cake to come out any better or any less magical!
